RESIDENTIAL

ROOF

10 STEP PROCESS

GROUND CHECK & PREPARATION

1.

To avoid any unnecessary damages to your property or belongings, the FIRST thing we do before tearing off the old roof is remove any fragile items (ie, BBQ's, glass tables, gardening pots) that surround the house. Next, we place tarps around the areas where garbage may fall. The tarps help catch and control any debris or nails that may come off the roof. This guarantees for a quick and easy cleanup, leaving your yard around your house nice and clean!

REMOVE OLD SHINGLES & REPLACE ROTTEN WOOD

2.

After we remove the old shingles or wooden shakes from the roof, we do a full sheathing inspection before proceeding. Having the wood on your roof in good condition is essential for the fasteners to be able to serve their purpose when installing. Next, WE CLEAN YOUR GUTTERS FOR FREE to ensure proper travel of water as it exits through the eaves troughs.

DRIP EDGE

3.

After checking for wood rot, drip edge is installed around all of the eaves of the roof. Drip edge is used to direct all the water running off of the roof directly into the eaves troughs. It also protects against water seeping in between the fascia and gutters.

ICE & WATER

4.

Ice and water is a peel and stick membrane which we place on the first three feet of the roof line and in all the valleys of the roof. Ice and Water is used for protection against ice build up and ice dams.

SYNTHETIC UNDERLAY

5.

We use synthetic underlay on the entire plywood surface after we install the ice and water membrane. This gives your roof an extra layer of protection in the event of a major storm when blow offs can occur. Also, it reduces the chances of leaks into your home.

METAL VALLEYS

6.

We use metal valley instead of closed shingled valleys on all of our jobs. Water tends to accumulate more in the valleys on your roof. Metal valleys help water exit smoother into the eaves troughs more efficiently then closed shingled valleys.

PROPER VENTILATION

8.

It is essential to have proper ventilation in your attic. Vents help air circulate through and out of your attic. A lack of ventilation can lead to humidity in your attic which then can lead to mold. Also, it can effect inside temperatures in your home during summer months. All of our quotes include the installation of upgraded impact resistant vents as needed at no extra cost. we recommend one vent for every 250 sq/ft of attic space.
We replace and upgrade all old goose-necks and plumbing stacks with new impact resistant products free of charge!

PROPER METAL FLASHING

9.

Chimneys and walls are common areas for leaks to occur. We Make sure that the current metal flashing's that run up the walls and chimneys on your roof are up to code before installing the roof. If the old flashing's on your roof are not up to our standards, we will change them out for a reasonable price.
